April 2019 Adult houseparties & weekend prayer requests

The Oast Houses (2-5 May)

Please pray that all who are involved in the weekend – our speaker, the host team, and all our guests – would have a fresh and personal encounter with the Lord. The benefits of being 'in community' are tremendous, but we also pray that God would draw near to each individual, engaging with them uniquely, one-to-one.  James Gerry

Ammerdown (2-7 June)

Pray for Rev Canon David Cook as he prepares to lead us through "Fanning the Flames of HOPE in an age of Division, Doubt and Despair" – a look at four O/T characters and at Christ Himself. Sue Graham Smith is our worship leader: please also pray for her as she prepares. Judith Marriott, whom many will know, is in hospital, having had a stroke. She and Martin are now uncertain as to whether they will make it to Ammerdown. Please also pray for all the preparations being made by the host team - Fiona and Graham Carr, Jenny and Peter Hyatt, Sarah and Christopher Panes and Clare and Antony Wells. Graham Carr

Rydal Hall (16-21 June)

Our houseparty is full and we have 50% new faces, which is healthy. We have had two planning sessions – one in Dorset and the other in London – with our speaker from Cambridge and our worship leaders. There’s a real sense of expectation as we plan walks, visits and a full-on evening programme. Pray that folk might come prepared and with open hearts to receive what God is saying to us through the talks and discussion groups. We would value good weather so we can make best use of the wonderful country around us in the Lakes.  John and Sheelagh Rennie

Lox Lane Farm (8-13 Sept)

We give praise for a full houseparty and that we have found some extra accommodation at a nearby B&B. We give thanks for the community at Lox Lane who are so friendly and look after us so well.  Please pray the we are able to find convenient dates for us all to meet for whole team meeting. Hugh Lee

Arisaig (29 Sept-4 Oct)

Praise God we have a full houseparty. Please pray for all who are planning to come, for Patrick Whitworth’s preparation of appropriate talks, and for all of us to be ready to hear what the Lord has to say.  Also please pray for our team as we work together for the first time. John Metters

Past events:

Scrum (Men's weeekend)

Hearts full of thankfulness for an amazing weekend of brilliant teaching (from Sandy Millar, Jeremy Jennings and Nathan Blackaby), powerful worship (led by Nik Pears and Matt Mowle), exhilarating rugby and great friendships. A valuable opportunity to pause in the busyness of life and connect with God and friends (new and old). God is good! Jimi Gale
