I hope you are well. I am so excited for the online Easter camps that are coming up next week- if you don’t know what is going on, then please do email me on email@example.com and I can get you involved.
In the busy build up to next week, this verse has stuck out for me:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith”- Hebrews 12:1-2
Despite the hindrance of Covid-19, and the sin of selfishness that is easily fallen into, I have been challenged recently to persevere. The key to this perseverance? Setting our eyes on Jesus. If we grit our teeth, and rely on our own strength, we will just run on the spot. In order to get anywhere, we have to have our gaze intently on Jesus, and never look back or to the side.
I’m confident that next week will be a time for many of us where, either for the first time or again, we will see Jesus as the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. It takes perseverance at the moment to keep our relationship with God alive but I am so encouraged to be surrounded by a great group of witnesses at the Stewards Trust, and am so grateful that Jesus promises to be faithful to us.
Stay safe, and hopefully see many of you next week!
