“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
For I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
For to you I entrust my life.” Psalm 143:8
This week I just have a simple reminder of why getting into the Word each day is such a good thing.
This verse in Psalm 143 has been coming up again and again in my Celtic Daily Prayer devotional, and there’s something about sitting with a few short lines that begins to really get to you.
In a season where I’m beginning to work out next steps and pray into different decisions, I have few answers, but it’s been wonderful to see David singing the same thoughts as I’m having thousands of years later.
In seasons of doubt, learning how to step out in blind faith and trusting that His promises are worth it are tricky. So there’s great solace in finding that others have walked the same path.
As I read these words this morning I became aware of the sunlight coming in through the window, the birdsong in the air and the season of spring beginning to strike its first notes all around me. It wasn’t a miraculous sign, or the heavens parting, but there in the simple beauty of the morning I was being reminded of His daily love and faithfulness.
So I’m praying for you all, that He reminds you of His unfailing love, and leads you in the way you should go as you entrust your lives to him.
