This year, our speaker is Simon Cansdale, Vicar of Christ Church Winchester, who will be giving three talks from 2 Corinthians entitled “I Can See Clearly Now” – This Jar of Clay, This Earthly Tent and This New Creation.Simon has previously served in Chesham, Nottingham, Cambridge and Bletchley. Simon is married to Naomi, who teaches A level Economics and is also a lay chaplain at HMP Winchester, and they have three children all in their twenties. Simon has a wide portfolio of mentoring, fanning gifts into flame, and working with partners to foster peace-building in conflict zones in Southern Africa, all initiated and imagined within the generous love of Christ. He was gutted to miss the deadline for the International Marmalade Awards this year, in bed with the flu (that elusive Gold Award still eludes him!).
Days of Encouragement are a much-loved annual faith builder as we serve God in our different churches and local communities. These days of worship, teaching, fellowship and prayer are always restorative; they also provide a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.
