FAQs

Our family houseparties all come from a similar mould but are each distinctive and vary from year to year in terms of specific programmes on offer. These questions are intended to give you an idea of what you might expect. For precise information, you will need to check with the hosts of each individual event.

No, there are always new people at our events. We love having newcomers and the whole atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends.

All come from the same vision and have a similar format in terms of daily timetable. They are run by volunteer host teams who bring their own ‘flavour’ and emphasis, and plan for their specific group of guests.

We worship as a family all together to start the morning, followed by time in different age groups.  Normally there is a talk, followed by discussion groups for the adults with space for coffee.  Children and youth groups enjoy a mixture of games, input, crafts, prayer and fun.  After lunch, a mixture of sports, crafts and trips are on offer.  There might be a seminar or two through the week and an opportunity to pray with someone or in a guided prayer space on your own.  Evenings provide a mixture of social and spiritual stimuli, often finishing up with a drink at the bar and a chance to chat with new and old friends.  Babysitters are provided.

We recommend that you plan to stay for the whole event in order to be able to fully participate.

In general – yes.  The fee covers fully catered provision, accommodation and all on-site activities for the week. Some events may operate a pay bar in the evening. Off-site activities may have a fee involved (e.g. for parking).

Yes, most dietary needs can be accommodated.  Please mention at time of booking.

Children/youth groups in the mornings are run by carefully selected volunteers, who are screened and vetted according to our robust safeguarding policy.  Many will have been connected to The Stewards’ Trust over many years.

Our venues are boarding schools so expect somewhere between camping and The Ritz!  Room sizes vary from single rooms to larger dorms. We aim to put families with similar age children in the same houses, and ensure small children are close to their parents.  Bedding is normally provided.

Babysitters maybe school employees, volunteers, guests on the houseparty itself or robustly vetted local volunteers. For more information, see our safeguarding policy or check in with your event for specifics.
